A Platform That Empowers and Elevates
The Maya Khubani Awards were established to spotlight those voices in photography that push creative limits, explore social issues, and redefine how we tell stories through visuals. Named after the late Maya Khubani, a passionate patron of the arts and storytelling, the award seeks to honor her legacy by uplifting artists who embody her spirit.
This year’s theme was open — allowing photographers to submit what they felt most connected to. The entries ranged from conceptual portraits and street life candids to surreal landscapes and experimental work. What united all the entries was the hunger to express — something our jury valued deeply.
Our jury comprised seasoned photographers, visual artists, editors, and curators — each bringing their unique insight to the evaluation process. From lighting and composition to originality and narrative flow, every detail was considered. And after rounds of discussion and deliberation, these five emerged as the names to celebrate.
